Well, while my presence there mostly was in the capacity of “helper”, I was usually too tired to really have carefree fun at an event I would otherwise have fully enjoyed with other geeky friends. But I am definitely not complaining!
My personal experience might have been different, but it was all worth it for the Quantum Leap panel, as I’m still a fan of the show. I have fabulous video of the whole event, unfortunately cut into two parts because my new camera stops taking video at around 30 minutes, but see! At least 30 minutes of wonderfulness and another 10, I think. I’ll try to put it up onto Google Video or something.
I also had the pleasure of meeting Scott Bakula, as well as Edward James Olmos, and they both were just so kind. Mr. Olmos is an amazing human being, full of energy, with many achievements under his belt and a genuine, unpretentious attitude. Bakula, too, was full of energy and happiness.
I also shook hands and said my hellos to David H. Lawrence (The Puppetmaster from Heroes) and let him know how cool I thought he was in that show, though I’ve stopped watching it since the end of season 3, I think. He was also just very kind. I don’t think there was anyone there, really, who wasn’t – attendees or guests. Patricia Quinn also, from Rocky Horror Picture Show, was delightfully charming and quite a character!
I did manage to get my husband to take a few pictures of me, in addition to the ones I took of random event moments.
And yes, I’m aware of the Harle Quinn picture being blurry, but I tried to get that photo in time before she moved. My sister just loves that character! Oh, well. There were probably five different Harles there, and one was dressed in latex!
And before I forget, the restaurant in the Marriot where the majority of the event was held (called Sear) was absolutely fabulous! We ate so well there, and everything was always very good. Even the waitresses during the lunch shift were sweet! Everything about that place is high quality good, and highly recommended! The rack of lamb was served with mint jelly, and we had an aged steak that was beyond belief, with a peppercorn sauce as well as a béarnaise (you have a choice of two others as well, but we stuck with what we liked – we were not disappointed).
Okay, picture time!
